How can we help?

These help instructions are currently available in English.

Create and edit an invoice

  1. Open the invoice generator and choose Create invoice.
  2. In Edit, fill in your business, customer, invoice number and dates on the invoice. Add each item’s description, quantity, unit and price.
  3. Use the tax and discount controls when needed. Add payment instructions and review the totals.
  4. Choose Preview to check the finished document before exporting.

On smaller screens, On invoice and Fields give you two ways to edit the same draft. Show unit changes whether units appear; hiding the column keeps your item values.

Choose a design

Choose Design in the invoice toolbar to adjust the template, font and supported appearance settings. Review the invoice after making changes. Your invoice details and amounts remain in the same draft.

For help choosing a layout, browse the guides and industry examples.

Download a PDF

  1. Review the invoice and correct any validation messages.
  2. Choose Download PDF. Your browser opens its print dialog.
  3. Select your browser or device’s PDF destination, such as Save as PDF, check the pages and save the file.

A PDF is the finished document to share. Keep a JSON backup too if you want to edit the invoice later.

Save an editable backup

The current tools keep a working draft in this browser. This is not cloud storage or cross-device history. Clearing site data, using another browser profile, or replacing the draft can make it unavailable.

  1. In the invoice toolbar, open More and choose Export JSON.
  2. Keep that file somewhere you control.
  3. To reopen it, use More → Import JSON and review the replacement confirmation. Back up your current draft before replacing it.

JSON backups may contain customer details and embedded images. Store and share them with care. See the privacy policy.

Send an invoice

Save the PDF first. Send → Email invoice opens your mail app with an invoice summary; attach the PDF yourself before sending. NineBrief does not automatically send the message. Device sharing, when available, shares a summary and does not create a hosted invoice link.

Troubleshoot a draft

My draft did not save

Read the save-status message. Browser storage may be unavailable or full. Export JSON before clearing data or switching browser profiles. Reducing large images can help with a storage-limit message. Do not assume a failed save is backed up.

A number or total looks wrong

Check the currency, quantity, unit price and whether tax or discount applies to each item or the whole invoice. Correct highlighted invalid values before exporting. Tax requirements depend on your location and transaction.

I cannot reopen an older invoice

The current tools keep one working draft per document family, rather than an account history. Reopen an exported JSON backup if you have one. A PDF is not an editable JSON backup.

I see a recovery message

Follow the recovery options shown. Keep a recovery copy when offered before resetting a damaged draft. A recovery file may contain invalid data and is not a validated invoice.

For a problem you cannot resolve, contact NineBrief with the tool name, browser and steps that caused it. Avoid including customer documents or sensitive information in your first message.
